Introduction
This unit develops the ability to design a complex, multi-level, mixed use building in an urban context, and expands the understanding of program and site analysis in this context as a basis for design decisions. The unit also focuses on the application in design of current architectural and theoretical ideas, supported by related contemporary theory explored in KDA322 History and Theory in Design 6. In addition, it provides a vehicle for exploration of Building Technology key themes in relation to medium scale buildings in KDA323 Building Technology in Design 6, including the integration of services.
