Akari Unit Outlines within MyLO

Akari is the source of truth for curriculum at the University of Tasmania.

A successful pilot and soft launch of Akari Generated unit outlines was completed in 2023, with representation from all Colleges.

2024 will see a staggered introduction of Akari Generated unit outlines.

• During the 1st half of  2024 an Academic unit (School) can decide whether their units use Akari to generate their unit  outlines.  In some cases this decision will be made at a College level rather than a School level
• All unit outlines will be generated in Akari from Semester 2, 2024

If a unit outline is generated in Akari, a link will be automatically added to the unit's Unit Information Widget within MyLO

If a unit outline is not generated in Akari, the unit outline will need to be manually linked in the unit

From 2024 when you create a unit within MyLO Manager you will have two choices for your Unit Outline:

• Akari Generated (default option)
• MyLO Web Page

* MyLO Web Page - this  option should only be used if unit codes have been removed from the MyLO unit title or if your Academic unit has opted not to use Akari for the first half of 2024 in all units

If you have approval to run your unit as co-badged ( 2+ units in the single MyLO Shell) you will need to choose  "One per Unit Code" in the selection box for "Number of Unit Outlines" and ensure both unit outlines have been published appropriately  to the Akari Unit Outlines website

Possible Issues

​The link in your MyLO Unit Information widget will be automatically created, but won’t display your Unit Outline unless the content has been created in Akari, and a Unit Outline generated and uploaded to the correct network folder location.

If this has not been done clicking on the link will generate the following message:

If you know your Akari Unit Outline has been created but the link in MyLO is displaying this error message, it's possible the outline has been published to the incorrect grouped study period.  You can check the  Central Site to see where your unit outline is appearing, and then check the mapping table on the Akari help page to see if it is aligned to the correct grouped study period for your unit.
