Software Engineering and HCI KIT519
Introduction
This unit explores the alternative methodologies for creating high-quality software products that meet their functional goals, but also satisfy the needs of the people who will use them. You will interact with real-life case studies to explore the various systems development methodologies and stages of the systems development lifecycle, to develop the skills to make software that is fit for purpose. You will work in a development team, building on each other’s strengths to develop a high-fidelity software application prototype to meet a real-world organisation’s requirements.

- Analyse alternative system development methodologies to select the most appropriate for a given software development project
- Design and appraise artefacts typically identified within the systems development life cycle that reflect a technical- and user-centric and user experience approach
- Create and evaluate high-fidelity prototypes based on user experience principles to express application designs
