Applications are open for the prestigious Rosamond McCulloch Studio Residency in Paris offered by the University of Tasmania.

Up to six artists will have the opportunity to live and work in the studio, located in the heart of Paris in the world-renowned Cité Internationale des Arts, during 2024.

The Cité complex, home to 300 studios, is owned by universities and arts organisations from around the world. It also houses a library, gallery and concert hall as well as printmaking and photographic facilities.

The Rosamond McCulloch Studio is situated in a beautiful eighteenth-century town house within the Cité complex on the right bank of the Seine, close to Notre Dame and within walking distance to major galleries including the Louvre.

Since its establishment in 1991, the residency has allowed many graduates from the School of Creative Arts and Media and Tasmanians the opportunity to study and develop new work.

Visual artists, musicians, performers and writers who are University of Tasmania honours or postgraduate students, and alumni working in the creative arts, are all eligible to apply.

Funding towards travel, living expenses and materials is available to some recipients through several associated scholarships.

An information session will be held online on June 20, while applications close on July 1. Successful residents and scholarship awardees will be notified on August 1. Full details are available here.
