Introduction

The Asia Pacific is a rapidly growing region that presents attractive market opportunities for foreign businesses. However, this is also a complex and dynamic region, posing particular difficulties for foreign businesses operating in the region. Based on theories and concepts of international business, this unit examines the operational environment of the region and the strategic and managerial responses of foreign businesses to the complex environment. The management systems of major Asian players are also discussed in this unit.
