Introduction
EUS011 Mathematics of Science and Engineering 1 covers concepts and skills in calculus, as a preparation for University degree subjects with a mathematical component such as Science, Engineering, Geography, Health Science and Psychology. It begins with a revision of basic knowledge, including index laws, logarithms, sequences and series. Moves to trigonometry, functions, graphing of functions and limits as preparation for Differential Calculus.

Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge of conventional mathematical and algebraic notation and terminology.
- Identify and apply appropriate mathematical techniques in order to solve problems given in a variety of formats.
- Present sophisticated logical solutions to mathematical problems using conventional mathematical and algebraic notation and terminology.
- Demonstrate effective study skills by maintaining a workbook covering the key components in the course and identifying and seeking assistance in areas that require clarification.
