Understanding Psychology EUS036
Introduction
Psychology is the scientific study of behaviour, human experience, and mental processes and the application of that knowledge to help both individuals and groups. The objectives of the course are to introduce students to a range of topics in the field of psychology, to introduce students to some key theories and concepts and to raise students’ awareness of the role of scientific method in inquiry in psychology. Tutorials will cover topics such as the brain, learning, intelligence and abnormal psychology.

- Locate, retrieve and use relevant and appropriate sources of information.
- Synthesise key information relating to psychological theories, principles and practices.
- Give an oral presentation on an Anxiety Disorder which adheres to academic conventions including structure, style and referencing.
- Identify a range of psychological theories, principles and practices.
