Industry Project ZAT118
Introduction
In this unit, you will work on an industry design-based project that will enable you to demonstrate problem-solving and design optimisation skills. Your discipline related project will include developing design options, carrying out a cost-benefit analysis and recommending a solution that is optimised within safety sustainability requirements. You will scope and define your own project, working with peers, industry mentors, and your unit coordinator. The project will require you to apply and integrate discipline-specific skills and knowledge acquired during their Associate Degree program and within your own life experiences.
This unit also introduces learning through practice by exposing you to authentic learning experiences. These experiences are placed at the centre of learning and assessment, so you have the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours necessary to respond to industry, community and/or global needs.
You will be introduced to:
- a range of methods, tools, techniques and approaches to practice
- principles and perspectives such as values, ethics, empathy and leadership in real world scenarios
- reflection and deliberative thinking as a means of developing knowledge, skills, attitudes and aspirations
- ways of understanding problems and developing solutions through active inquiry.
