Introduction

In this unit you will be introduced to a range of foundational workplace knowledge, skills and attributes to help prepare you for work in contemporary contexts. You will complete various practical activities that will equip you with the tools expected by employers and increase your competitive employment advantage. A central focus of this unit is the development of career skills such as communication, writing a CV, interview skills, networking, and understanding diversity in the workplace. In addition, you will explore a range of personal and career development goals, and time management and motivational strategies. There are workbook activities and a number of short written assignments that combine to form the unit assessment, which will be graded only as a pass or fail.
