Introduction
This unit will give an introduction and overview to the benchmarks, structures and processes required to build the performance of a school. Definitions of school performance are considered in the light of the school's constitutional descriptions of its purpose and the requirements of external regulatory bodies. The participant will develop the skills and knowledge required to contribute to the process of building school performance. This will involve identifying the key factors that contribute to school performance, reviewing the current performance of a school, identifying an appropriate appraisal and school review program to initiate changes within the school and identify supportive strategies to improve and build a performance culture. The participant will participate in an appraisal process as part of a school initiative to build performance.
