Advanced Practice A FSX402

Introduction

You will identify the creative practice skills needed to extend your Honours research project. This unit provides a mechanism to extend your existing ability beyond what has previously been possible. You will design, a project including a process for skill acquisition and an outline of its application or relevance to your research. Where viable this may include utilising the expertise of Creative Arts and Media technical and academic staff, and the specialist facilities in the Hedberg, Hunter St, Media School, and Inveresk. You will consult your supervisor and the unit coordinator in developing your proposal. The onus is on you to target, resource and develop your aims independently.

You will draft a proposal documenting your aims. As you progress you will share work with others and receive feedback and document your process and outcomes for a final folio submission. The process of self-directed skill acquisition enabled by this unit models the life-long learning you will need to undertake as a professional in the creative industries and/or in further higher degree by research study.
