Students must obtain the approval of the discipline coordinator prior to enrolling in this unit with a proposal and obtain agreement from the lecturer to supervise their special topic. Enrolment in this unit will only be approved by the Program Director in exceptional circumstances.
Introduction
Provides the opportunity for students to undertake study in an approved topic of special interest to them that is not covered by the School at undergraduate level. Unit is taught at advanced, pre-Honours level and is normally restricted to students who have demonstrated potential for honours. Students must justify why they wish to enrol in this unit instead of another unit on offer.
Enrolment in this unit requires the specific approval of both the relevant staff member (your supervisor) and the Program Director. For this reason students are unable to enrol online. Instead, students must print a hard copy of their enrolment statement which must be signed by the Program Director. Students are advised to approach an appropriate member of staff first (dependent on topic and area of expertise) to discuss supervision. The Program Director will only approve enrolment in this unit if a staff member has agreed to supervise.
