Paramedicine 1 CAA110

Introduction

This unit introduces you to introductory level theory which underpins the practice of paramedicine, with a focus on the initial assessment and management of the emergent patient presentation. You will be introduced to entry level concepts of paramedicine that include situation awareness, approach to the patient, and clinical assessment of a patient using a systems-based approach. You will develop underpinning knowledge for the management of uncomplicated medical and trauma presentations, and undertake an introduction to clinical assessment, provision of care and associated clinical interventions. This unit aligns with the clinical skills and practical application of theory concepts delivered in the first clinical paramedicine unit.
