Paramedicine in Clinical Context 1 CAA112
Introduction
This is the first paramedicine in clinical context unit which will allow the student an opportunity to observe and integrate into the ambulance team culture and environment.
This unit focuses on consolidation of the knowledge and skills the student has acquired prior to this unit. The student will transition from the role of observer to being able to assist with basic skills as defined by their scope of practice. The student will display professionalism, followership, and a patient-centered approach to case management. In this unit attendance and active engagement is important in gaining the required level of understanding and clinically safe practice.

Learning Outcomes
- Apply appropriate fundamental level communication strategies to interact with the patient, team members, the public, and other health care and emergency professionals.
- Demonstrate fundamental clinical reasoning and basic practical skills in differing patient presentations in the out-of-hospital setting.
- Integrate current evidence-based practice and reflective practice to discuss patient management principles.
- Operate in a professional and ethical manner in a healthcare setting in accordance with your Bachelor of Paramedicine skills matrix at an introductory level
