Introduction
Students are introduced to what it means to be a developing Registered Nurse in contemporary nursing practice. This unit focuses attention on learning about the essential components of making the transition from beginning level towards achieving proficiency as a Registered Nurse. The introduction of a professional practice portfolio is used to facilitate this process. Students will therefore employ critical analytical and reflective abilities to develop their strengths as developing Registered Nurses as they work towards building confidence in the development of their individual professional identities.
