Note:

CSA433 is available to students within the Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours (M4C) and Bachelor of Pharmacy with Applied Honours (54A) programs.

Individual honours students within the Bachelor of Pharmacy with Applied Honours (54A) program will enrol CSA433 and CSA434 as an overload in Year 4. On successful completion of the 54A and CSA434, students will be eligible to graduate with the Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours (54B).

Introduction

In this unit, students will conduct their research project under the direction of their supervisory team. The finalised research proposal will be submitted for review early in the semester to assess whether adequate progress is being made and confirm that the project can be completed on time with respect to the project timeline and academic requirements of the honours program. Students will also present a progress seminar to their classmates, other research students and staff.

Teaching Pattern

Students are expected to work approximately 1-2 days per week on their project. Research skills tutorials and academic supervision are provided.

Assessment

Submission of a written research proposal (max. 8,000 words, not including appendices), including a literature review, research plan and all ethics documentation (if applicable) (pass/fail) and presentation of a progress seminar (10 minutes duration with 5 minutes Q & A) (pass/fail).

Students will be awarded an interim completion (IC) grade following the successful completion of the assessment tasks in this unit, with a unit result awarded once CSA434 is completed.
