Engineering Design ENG200
Introduction
This unit aims to develop engineering analysis and design knowledge and skills within a multi-disciplinary, sustainable engineering context to ideate, design, optimise and build a prototype. You will work in a team to analyse a problem in terms of its context, dilemma and objective prior to developing a conceptual design, before you enter a next stage of following a reference design and building a solution. At the end you will engage with an engineering design competition.

Learning Outcomes
- Design and refine a solution to an engineering problem using quantitative predictions of its performance against the design brief criteria and project management skills within a team context.
- Build a prototype of the designed solution in the engineering workshop following safe work practices and the reference design.
- Evaluate a prototype by comparing measured performance during tests against the design predictions.
- Apply sustainability concepts, human centred design principles, and self reflection to engineering project management and decision making components.
