Responsible Fishing JFA535

Students may be required to attain a Shipboard Safety Skill Set Certificate and pass a medical examination to attend a training cruise aboard the FTV Bluefin.

Introduction

The purpose of this unit is to make students aware of the options to reduce the impacts of fishing on the marine environment. This advanced unit provides the student with the opportunity to assess the impacts of fishing on the marine environment and to recommend methods to promote responsible fishing practices within the fishing industry.
