Fisheries Management JFA542

Introduction

This unit will emphasise the management of fisheries following the principles of Ecologically Sustainable Development. The aim of this unit is to provide you with a framework for the strategic management of fisheries. The principles of fisheries management will be developed through a review of international guidelines, and domestic policy and legislation. Methods used to develop, implement and evaluate fisheries management plans will be covered. The course will also highlight the need for effective fisheries compliance programs in support of the strategies identified within a fisheries management plan.
