Introduction

This unit provides a second opportunity to engage in the Learning-by-Making program. Each project focuses on the collaborative design, fabrication, assembly and installation of an object or space, often located in a public space. The projects are 'live' and students will usually experience direct engagement with stakeholders, including clients, engineers and local authorities. Students will use model making at a variety of scales to fully develop ideas before progressing to full-scale fabrication. Construction technologies will vary from project to project and may involve either traditional construction or digital fabrication. Workplace Heath and Safety will be an integral part of the learning in this unit.
