Hobart
This unit has been discontinued.
Enrolment depends on availability of a suitable project, supervisor and resources. Please note that several schools offer 3rd year research units. Only one of these research units can be taken in any single semester and students can only include two research units within the BSc.
This unit is classed as a restricted unit which requires unit co-ordinator approval for enrolment.
Introduction
This unit is restricted to students who have achieved the minimum level of a Credit in both KZA211 and KZA212 and at least two more second level science units, and who are undertaking a major in Zoology, and for whom a suitable project and supervisor are available. Enrolment is at the discretion of the Unit Coordinator. The unit consists of an independent research project in Zoology. It will involve approximately 80 contact hours planning, conducting, analysing and reporting on a research topic negotiated between the student and the supervising academic. Projects will generally be restricted to those offered by staff although other projects may be considered subject to prior agreement between the student, supervisor, unit co-ordinator and Head of School. Students who wish to enrol must contact the unit coordinator, A/Prof. Mark Hovenden, and are also advised to talk directly to potential supervisors. Conditional on the agreement of the supervisor, students can undertake this unit in any semester, but it must be completed within that semester.

Please check that your computer meets the minimum System Requirements if you are attending via Distance/Off-Campus.
Units are offered in attending mode unless otherwise indicated (that is attendance is required at the campus identified). A unit identified as offered by distance, that is there is no requirement for attendance, is identified with a nominal enrolment campus. A unit offered to both attending students and by distance from the same campus is identified as having both modes of study.
Special approval is required for enrolment into TNE Program units.
TNE Program units special approval requirements.
