To Get Started:
Please Note: At the end of the PRE-TEST you will be shown which modules you need to complete, ensure that you write these down. Even if you download your results of the PRE-TEST the modules which you need to complete will NOT show up in these results.
These modules have been designed for students entering into the Bachelor of Education (Primary and Early Childhood). By working your way through these modules you will gain;
How long will the pathway take?
What will this cost you?
1. You can take the Pre-test or just get started with the modules. The pre-test will give you an indication of which modules you will need to complete. The Pre-test has 34 questions and should take you about 40 minutes to complete. Please do not use a calculator. You will need to take note of which modules you need to complete at the end of the pre-test. Alternatively, go through each module, starting with Place Value and Appropriate Computational Skills and use it as a review of your mathematics skills.
2. Once you enter each module, you will find the Learning Objectives of the module, connections to prior learning and connection to context and applications of the information in the module.
3. Proceed through each module and discover the Big Ideas of the topic, the Learning Activity and Practice Tasks for each Big Idea.
4. Each module is set up with the Big Ideas of the mathematical topic. The main understandings of these ideas are located in the tabs below which are then broken into learning activities with associated practice tasks. Each big idea/module also has sections titled, Extended thinking and Common misconceptions which provide additional information on the big idea.
5. Follow along the tabs below the Big Ideas (1, 1.1, Q1 etc) and then check your understanding of the Big Idea in the CU tab. At the end of the module you can Check your Understanding of the entire module with the Quiz.
6. Once you have successfully completed all the practice exercises, you will be ready for the online quiz. Make sure you enter your Full Name when taking the quiz in order to print out your completion certificate (this may be an important part of your university application for admission).
7. To pass the quiz, you will need to get a mark of at least 80%. Feedback will be provided for both correct and incorrect answers. You are able to re-take the quiz if needed.
8. After passing the quiz, proceed to the next module.
9. Fill out the Research Survey at the end of each module, provide your feedback to help improve the pathway.
