Starting or returning to tertiary study can be both an exhilarating and a stressful time for students.
In a tight private housing market, which has traditionally been where the majority of students have found accommodation, we know that finding a place to live has been a struggle for some.
The University has been tracking increasing demand for student accommodation and has significantly increased supply in response. We currently provide more than 1,100 beds in southern Tasmania, not including those beds available through Homestay programs, and a range of accommodation options in the North. Plans are in place to significantly increase that number through a pipeline of short, medium and long-term projects.
Students can speak to the dedicated Student Living Team for more information. They can be contacted within Australia on 1300 138 497, internationally on +61 3 6324 3440 or via email firstname.lastname@example.org
We have a dedicated team of Student Living staff who can help you with your individual circumstances. This team works seven days and can provide a range of services from helping with accommodation options to student counselling and other support.
A range of strategies has allowed us to provide additional beds to meet very high demand. New accommodation at Fountainside has provided 75 new beds, while 31 Campbell now features 16 new beds for University students.
Our Student Living team are now offering accommodation places in the newly refurbished OC (the Old Commerce Building). We expect work to be completed by 18 March, adding 170 beds. Students staying at OC will move in after a Welcome Stay arranged through the Homestay program should they require.
There are currently 100 beds available through our Homestay programs, which offer an excellent alternative style of accommodation.
The Village, a 183-bed expansion of the student accommodation precinct on College Road at Sandy Bay, will be available for Semester 2.
The Student Living Team can provide more information on these options and can be contacted within Australia on 1300 138 497, internationally on +61 3 6324 3440 or via email email@example.com
Please email a confirmation that you have accepted private accommodation elsewhere and you no longer require your University offer to firstname.lastname@example.org including your student name and University student ID number in the subject field.
