Our program
Our rural health education program is a national priority that is supported and funded by the Australian Government Department of Health’s Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) program. We promote rural health by delivering rural training at our rural health training site and by supporting nursing and allied health students to undertake work integrated learning and professional experience placements across regional, rural and remote areas of Tasmania.
With place-based academic support and supervision by a health professional, you will learn in smaller teams, with opportunities to engage in supported interprofessional learning activities that are intentionally designed to aligned to local community needs.
An immersive community engagement program enables you to experience rural life for yourself.
This element of the program extends to being part of local community activities that are focused on working towards improving public health and wellbeing in rural regions, as well as strengthening the rural health system.
