The Tasmanian School of Business and Economics Work Ready Program started in Launceston in 2021 and since then has had a range of fantastic presentations from local employers at the Henty House CBD campus.

Each employer gives an overview of their organisation and employment practices, letting students know what it takes to succeed as they commence their careers in business.

As students work towards their academic goals, these sessions give them a chance to think about not only the type of work they will be best suited to, but the types of workplaces that will be the best fit. It also allows employers to meet and understand the interests of future graduates.

Students have benefited from learning from and engaging with the following local employers in the first series of this program: St Luke’s Health, ALA Partners, Johnson Breward Brown, Ruddicks Chartered Accountants, Bellevue Chartered Accountants, Peppers Hotels, Kingthing Marketing, Synectic Accountants, Deloitte, City of Launceston, Findex and Crowe, and TimberLink Australia.

In semester 2, the program is expanding to the Hobart and Launceston campuses with a new Applied Employment Skills Program, covering a range of practical development opportunities for business students to practice their professional skills.
