A shared goal to deliver better health outcomes for all Tasmanians underpins a new formal agreement between the University of Tasmania and Primary Health Tasmania.
The MoU, Partnering for primary care capacity and advancement, is the first of its kind between the two organisations who have worked in collaboration over a number of years.
“The University and Primary Health Tasmania have had a long-standing collaborative relationship over many decades,” Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Health) Professor Graeme Zosky said.
“We have worked on key areas of system and service enhancement, system reform and development and collaborated on initiatives including the Tasmanian Data Linkage Unit and research partnerships through the Menzies Institute for Medical Research.
“The new formal agreement strengthens the collaboration, drawing on the unique capability and capacity each organisation holds to enhance shared goals which will benefit the health and wellbeing of Tasmanians.”
Over the next three years, the agreement will focus on exploring and progressing opportunity for:
- upskilling University and Primary Health Tasmania staff in a range of areas including data, research, health economics and healthcare redesign
- placements at Primary Health Tasmania for post-graduate students
- collaborating on a range of health system reform activities
