Sustainability tour

The tour explores how aspects of sustainability have been incorporated within the University of Tasmania.

In 2019 the University of Tasmania signed the University Commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, leading the way as local and global leaders towards a sustainable future. The tour explores how aspects of sustainability have been incorporated within the University of Tasmania. Features on the tour include the University’s sustainable building designs, transport services, waste management, biodiversity on campus, options for health and wellbeing activities and social sustainability as well as student sustainability projects on the campus.

The tour was created through the Sustainability Integration Program for Students (SIPS) co-funded by Infrastructure, Services and Development (ISD) and the Tasmanian University Student Association (TUSA).

We hope our tour will raise awareness and encourage students and staff to embrace sustainability on campus, in their personal and professional lives.

You can engage with the tour through a self-guided walk or as virtual tour to learn about the different locations around campus.

The self-guided walk follows the best route of access but please be mindful that it does not consider slope and ground cover and some aspects of the tour may be on an incline.
