Our mission:

  • To advance research in the area of renewable energy and power engineering in Australia
  • To promote strategic cooperation between the University of Tasmania and Tasmanian Power Industries in the area of renewable energy and power engineering research
  • To establish the University of Tasmania as a world class research institution in the area of renewable energy and power engineering.

Research Facilities

The Centre for Renewable Energy and Power Systems has access to several onsite laboratory facilities at the School of Engineering & ICT, including purpose built renewable energy, microgrid and power laboratories. Laboratories also maintain access to industry leading software packages for simulation, modelling and analysis in energy and power systems applications.
