1 Planning

• Determine Contractor Classification
• Determine whether Principal Contractor will be appointed (see Guide to Appointing Principal Contractors)

2 Selection

• Determine contractor engagement approach
• Identify required Engagement Documentation
• Coordinate receipt and evaluation of Engagement documentation
• Conduct evaluation of Engagement documentation using relevant experts as required
• Award contract as appropriate

Basic:

Specialist/Complex:

Specialist or Contractor Application Form

• Complete induction requirements table within Selection and Engagement
• Conduct review and approval of relevant SWMS, WHS Management Plan

4 Delivery

• Conduct Kick-Off Safety Meetings
• If variation occurs, ensure Contractor reviews and updates risk assessment
• Undertake relevant Assurance activities (Auditing Requirements within Selection and Engagement)
• Review performance reports (WHS Performance Reporting Requirements within Selection and Engagement)
• Hold required Performance Meetings

5 Completion

• Review and evaluate contractor performance and report concerns to ISD and WHS team for review
• Store relevant Contract documentation
