Introduction
This unit will familiarise you with the fundamental concepts of database design and implementation techniques to define, construct and query a database. In this unit you will develop basic skills in data modelling using relational data models and normalisation to ensure data integrity. You will learn how to transform a data model into a relational database design as well as effectively mine data using the structured query language (SQL). You will explore a range of data visualisation techniques to be able to address organisation information requests. Essential requirements for secure data management to ensure data privacy and other legal responsibilities will also be covered including data mining, data lakes, and data warehousing.
