Introduction
The purpose of this unit is to develop your skills in reading, writing, listening to and speaking English at undergraduate university level with attention to academic vocabulary and common text types. You will read textbook sections and other material from the core courses you are taking and analyse them for discourse, syntactic and lexical features. You will then develop appropriate written and spoken responses to spoken and written texts. You will also develop transferable skills in summarising, paraphrasing, referencing, evaluating, planning, editing, and research.
