Introduction
This unit supports your development as a teacher of Mathematics and Numeracy in the primary classroom. The unit contextualises and expands your knowledge in relation to school-based mathematics and numeracy teaching and learning as you develop your skills in a classroom setting. You will explore how teachers make contextual decisions about curriculum content, teaching strategies, differentiation and assessment, while engaging more deeply with curriculum and evaluation processes. You will develop your pedagogical content knowledge for teaching mathematics and addressing diverse learners’ needs. Your understanding will develop through engagement in collegial discussions.
