Arts Education: Drama & Dance unit (EPR330)

Introduction

In this unit, you will be introduced to drama and dance as key Primary and Early Childhood learning areas as well as core components of the Australian Curriculum. You will explore how students learn about and through the arts, with a particular focus on how drama and dance can be integrated across the curriculum. The unit has a strong practical and applied dimension, where you will be required to plan, teach, record and critically reflect on a dance and/or drama learning sequence. By the end of this unit, you will be able demonstrate a critical understanding of drama and dance education, including the ways in which students learn in the arts and the unique pedagogical skills required.

Teaching

Teaching Pattern	If you are enrolled as an on campus student, you will engage in blended teaching delivery.  You are required to engage with the weekly online presentations and resources before attending your on campus practical tutorials. Your AT1 and a component of your AT3 task will be presented during your on campus tutorials.   If you are enrolled as an online student, you will engage in online only teaching delivery. You are required to engage with the weekly online presentations and resources before attending your practical zoom tutorial.  Your AT1 will be presented live during your online tutorial.  A component of your AT3 task can be presented in a school or community group setting, or during your zoom tutorials.
