Introduction

This is the second of three units designed to develop key practical and theoretical skills relating to the practice of music required for today’s creative musician. You will engage in a variety of learning environments and activities aimed at developing essential literacies through integrated music theory and musicianship training.

• Explain and construct increasingly complex scales, keys, time signatures, rhythmic passages and harmony.
• Aurally identify and express combinations of musical elements through notation and performance tasks.
• Analyse musical passages using a more complex understanding of the elements of music notation.
