Introduction to German 1B unit (HEG102)

Introduction

This is the continuation of HEG101 German 1A. It is an intensive beginners' unit, which in conjunction with HEG101 aims to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the main structures of the German language. During the four contact hours of this course the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) are taught employing a communicative method. The course is suitable for students who have completed HEG101 or who demonstrate equivalent competency.

Learning Outcomes

• Demonstrate knowledge of German vocabulary and grammatical structures through recall
• Interpret meaning of basic written texts
