Introduction

In Tasmania, our vibrant arts and cultural calendar includes MOFO and Dark MOFO, Ten Days on the Island, and Beaker Street. In this unit, you will learn about the role of festivals, open days, street fairs and other events in contemporary civic life and how they contribute to the culture and economy of towns and cities around the world. From concept to producing a fully-costed proposal, you will develop a detailed understanding of the professional activities required to plan and execute an event, including budgeting, programming and promotion.
