Introduction

English Writing introduces students to, and consolidates their knowledge of, the conventions of English grammar and composition. The unit focuses on fashioning the skills required of an academic writer in a contemporary context in which AI is rapidly evolving. The unit covers:   

·         the processes and mechanics of academic writing;   

·         grammar, syntax, voice, punctuation, and usage;    

·         sentence, paragraph, and essay structure; 

·         and the ethics of working with AI in academic contexts.
