Introduction

This unit examines policy and governance in emergency management. Students will examine policy and governance frameworks and structures from a local, state, national and international perspective. The unit will explore the policy and governance processes, structures and frameworks that span the public, private and not-for-profit sectors using a series of case studies that have real-world applicability. This unit is an introductory (level 1) emergency management unit focused on understanding policy and governance in the context of emergency management.
