Introduction

Organisational resilience refers to an organisation’s ability to adapt, evolve, respond, and recover from short term shocks (be they natural hazards or significant changes in market dynamics) and to shape itself to respond to long term challenges. This requires practitioners to have a comprehensive understanding of the skills and knowledge required to develop and enhance an organisation’s resilience. This unit provides you with a thorough understanding of the theoretical concepts and practical applications for Leading Resilient Organisations. You will gain an appreciation of the issues and elements that underlie the practice of organisational resilience and draw upon theoretical concepts, real life case studies and relevant standards. This unit will provide you with the skills to translate theoretical concepts on organisational resilience into tangible outputs for industry. This unit will provide you with an understanding and the requisite skills that can be interrelated with other units should you proceed further with your postgraduate studies in organisational resilience.
