Introduction

The Community and Public Sector Internship Program is a research-based unit that offers you the opportunity to undertake an unpaid, part-time placement in  a public sector agency in the Tasmanian State Service, or a community-based non-governmental organisation (NGO), or a Local Government Authority through the Local Government Association of Tasmania.  The internship gives you experience in the practical aspects of policy-making and analysis, and in community and public sector administration. As an intern, you will also gain an introduction to the public or NGO sector network.

You will be notified about available internships via the School of Social Sciences internship page, or can enquire about available internships to the unit coordinator, Dr Matt Killingsworth (Matt.Killingsworth@utas.edu.au).

Requisites

Prerequisites

To be eligible for the internship, students must a have a minimum 6 point Grade Point Average or a Distinction average across the units of their major; and successfully completed 75 credit points in 200-level units , including successful completion of the two 200-level core units in their enrolled major.
