This unit builds students’ grasp of disciplinary methods and knowledge through focusing on a text-based special topic. Students will undertake a program of guided reading and discussion led by an academic expert.

- Explain the key themes and issues in a text-based special topic from the perspective of an academic discipline within the Humanities
- Apply skills in researching and critically analysing scholarship and evidence relating to a text-based special topic
- Apply skills in formulating and communicating arguments according to the conventions of an academic discipline within the Humanities
- Engage in sophisticated oral discussion as a member of an academic discipline within the Humanities
