Foundation Practical Study (Performance or Composition) FCP113
This unit is only available via the University Connections Program (UCP) (formerly known as the UTAS/University College Program).

When completed, this full UTAS unit will attract TCE points and contribute to ATAR.
All college students enrolled in this unit are encouraged to be a member of a college band/ensemble or choir. If the student is a composition major, it is advised that they have their works performed and recorded by an appropriate ensemble/performer.
Students who complete FCP113 but do not meet the standard required for a pass result or higher, will be withdrawn from the course without academic penalty - a failure (NN) result is not recorded on the academic transcript.
Introduction
This unit (FCP113) is the first of two University Connections Program music units for year 11/12 students aimed at providing an intensive course of study in performance or composition designed to build skills to allow a successful audition into the Bachelor of Music Degree.

- Use foundational performance skills, musicality and stylistic expression in performance or folio
- Execute instrumental or vocal technique in your music practice
- Describe the historical, musical or social context, repertoire or practices relevant to your own performance practice
- Communicate reflections on your achievements in written and oral modes to develop your creative practice
- Apply preparation skills including practice regimes, scheduling, communication, rehearsal attendance and logistics to perform a program of music

Teaching Pattern | Skills workshops, Duration 120 minutes, 3 times. Online learning and teaching content (self-directed study), 60 minutes weekly Classes delivered by the school/college Associate Teacher, weekly. Assessments conducted by UTAS Lecturers, Tutors and Associate Teachers, 30 minutes per student, twice. |
