Ceramics 1 FFC110

Introduction

This unit introduces you to ceramics practices through hands-on exercises, demonstrations, and creative projects. You will undertake a number of small experiments to gain and apply knowledge of a range of ceramic techniques, and explore surface possibilities through the firing process. An independent project will allow you to explore techniques further, resulting in a realised creative project. You will be introduced to a range of current and historic ceramic artists to assist with the development of your project. This unit is an introductory level unit for students studying in the creative arts, design, and other subject areas. Work health and safety instruction is an integral component of this course.
