Advanced Trauma and Environmental Paramedicine CAA222
Introduction
In this unit the student will affirm the importance of employing a systems-based approach to healthcare in the management of major incidents and multi-casualty situations. The student will further develop a systematic approach to trauma assessment and care of emergent patients and refine and integrate current knowledge, clinical reasoning, ethical considerations, patient communication and critical thinking in the context of patients experiencing a severity range of injuries or illnesses following trauma or environmental exposure.
Attendance and active engagement are important in gaining the required level of understanding and clinical practice. This unit requires significant student participation as part of the learning process.

- Apply clinical thinking and skills in the management of trauma and environmental patients in diverse settings
