Environmental Emergencies for Out-of-Hospital Practice CAA305

Introduction

This unit will reaffirm the importance of employing a systematic approach to patient care, in particular relating to unique environmental emergencies and will prepare you for practice as a beginning paramedic practitioner. You will further develop clinical reasoning skills, patient communication skills, clinical judgement and critical thinking in the context of patients suffering from injuries or illnesses in unique environmental settings.

  • Evaluate current Australian paramedic practice guidelines against relevant literature on the management of environmental emergencies.
