Introduction

This unit addresses issues concerning the health and well-being of older people in Australian society. The unit will develop your knowledge of the evidence base supporting contemporary policy relating to ageing, aged care, and dementia care. You will learn about services and resources available to support people as they age and people living with dementia, as well as for their family members and carers. The perspective of consumers, service providers, representative groups and government towards ageing and aged and dementia care services will be explored. You will also develop knowledge about regulatory requirements, funding, quality and safety issues pertaining to aged and dementia care services.
