Courses & Units

eCommerce Logistics Management JNB738

Introduction

The unit familiarises you with the complex logistical requirements resulting from digital business and e-commerce. The unit starts by examining the emerging business practices, systems, and technologies, which enable order fulfilment in this rapidly evolving space. It then examines how the functions of materials handling and transportation provide crucial digital business and e-commerce value through supply chain collaboration. Along the way, the unit also examines the logistics strategies, operations and infrastructure needed to meet the growing challenge of customer satisfaction in digital business and e-commerce distribution activities. By the end of the unit, you will be better prepared to apply logistical knowledge to support and make improvements in digital business and e-commerce.

This unit has linkages to JNB522 Business Logistics, and JNB624 Supply Chain Management. Knowledge from the two unit can be brought into play as you go through this unit study.
