In an ever-changing world, the resilience of organisations is constantly challenged and tested. Whether its natural disasters as a result of natural hazards, global pandemics, financial crises, or human threats such as cyber-attacks, leaders need to be equipped to solve these challenges and lead their organisations forward.
The Graduate Certificate in Organisational Resilience aims to develop independent and knowledgeable practitioners who are leaders in organisational resilience. With a strong reputation in resilience research and access to national and international industry partners from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, the Graduate Certificate in Organisational Resilience will develop students’ theoretical knowledge and practitioner-relevant skills.
The course is designed for those seeking to promote and implement change across a range of organisations that include those from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Students will develop knowledge of contemporary organisational resilience theory and evidence-based practices that can be applied to their current or future roles in organisational resilience, crisis management, protective security and/or business continuity management.

Entry requirements
Entry into the Graduate Certificate in Organisational Resilience degree requires;
- a bachelor’s degree or higher in any field or;
- work experience of at least three years in business continuity management, emergency management, crisis management, protective security, organisational resilience, company directors, HR managers, or other senior roles in operational or general management.
Admission to most postgraduate coursework courses at the University of Tasmania require qualifications equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree. Applicants must achieve the required grade in their qualifying studies, meet any prerequisite subjects and the English language requirements to be eligible for an offer.
English Language Requirements
For students who do not meet the English Language Requirement through citizenship or prior studies in English in an approved country, evidence of an approved English language test completed within the last 2 years must be provided. See the English Language Requirements page for more information.
Course Specific Requirements
Entry into the Graduate Certificate in Organisational Resilience degree requires;
- a bachelor’s degree in any field, or;
- admission to a Master of Business Administration or equivalent at University of Tasmania or other institutions, or;
- work experience of at least three years in business continuity management, emergency management, crisis management, protective security, organisational resilience, company directors, HR managers, or other senior roles in operational or general management.
The maximum credit granted will be in accordance with the limits as stated in Rule 6 Admission Assessment and Student Progress.
Articulation pathways are being planned for: 1. Master of Business Administration (International) 2. Master of Health Service Management 3. Master of Tourism, Environmental and Cultural Heritage
Fees & scholarships
Domestic students
This is a full-fee course, which means you’ll need to pay the full amount for your studies. Commonwealth Supported Places are not available in this course.

FEE-HELP loans
You may be able to fund all or part of your tuition fees by accessing a FEE-HELP loan from the Australian Government. FEE-HELP is a loan scheme that assists domestic full-fee students to pay for University, which is repaid through the Australian Tax System once you earn above a repayment threshold. This means you’ll only have to start repaying the loan once you start earning above a specific amount.

International students
2025 annual international student tuition fee: $15,475 AUD
The standard year of study for this course is 50 credit points.

This total tuition fee is indicative only. Please visit fees and costs for further information on how this is calculated.
International students are charged the Student Services and Amenities Fee but this fee is incorporated in the annual rate. International students do not have to make any additional SSAF payments.
