Translating Evidence into Dementia Care unit (CAD307)

Introduction

The provision of dementia care is shaped by overarching policy at the local, national and international level. This advanced level unit will explore the concept of policy, and the issues that influence the translation of evidence into policy and offer contemporary perspectives on how policy is implemented to drive equitable service provision for people with dementia. We will cover the role of policy in dementia care and ponder how to translate evidence into practice through knowledge translation and improvement science. Leadership skills are important to be able to change, influence and improve practice. To enable an appreciation of this vital aspect, content will be included on basic leadership theory.
