Introduction

This unit explores the interconnected domains of policy, law, ethics, strategy and financial management, equipping you with the knowledge and skills to navigate complex health and human service environments. You will evaluate policy initiatives, critically analyse legal and ethical challenges, and apply strategic and financial principles to lead organisational, community and system improvements. Emphasising a work-integrated-learning approach, the unit will guide you to apply theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence to real-world challenges within your workplaces, building your capability to make informed decisions and to lead with impact in a rapidly evolving context. Through a deepening of your reflective leadership practice and collaborative problem-solving skills, you will also develop strategies to address professional, organisational, and community issues, fostering resilient systems and a commitment to ongoing leadership development.
